These are caused by melanin, the skin’s colouring, which normally protects healthy cells against sunlight. It is therefore particularly important to protect the skin against sunlight to prevent pigmented spots.
 

Treatment

A treatment-like application over eight weeks using nutriderm Pigmacare® Serum also significantly lightens the skin and gives an even complexion. The redness and coloration of the skin is reduced and as a result, the skin ton evens out. It also increases elasticity by improving the collagen synthesis in deeper skin layers and makes the skin appear younger. Antioxidants even out hyperpigmentation, reduce age spots and pigment flaws caused by hormones. They reduce the melanin production, even out the skin tone and thus create a vibrant, even skin.

During the days of the treatment, avoid intensive sunlight and apply high UV protection. The combination of high-quality UVA and UVB filters provides high protection. Face Sun Protection Anti-Ageing 50+ is a moisturising anti-ageing sun cream for the sensitive skin on the face and should be applied 30 minutes before exposure to the sun.

Prevention

In order to prevent further pigmentation, it is important to avoid direct sun exposure. When sunbathing, it's essential to apply enough sunscreen and choose a sun protection factor (SPF) that matches your skin type. Sunscreen with a low SPF won’t provide adequate protection for very fair skin. To find the right sunscreen, multiply the number of minutes your skin naturally protects itself by the SPF of the sunscreen. The resulting time, in minutes or hours, indicates how long your skin is shielded from sun damage. For example, a person with very fair skin, which can self-protect for 10 minutes, could safely extend their sun exposure to 500 minutes using an SPF of 50.
